Its crazy to think its been nearly a year since Ronda Rousey last fought. During her time as UFC women’s bantamweight champ, Rousey was arguably the most dominant sports personality on the globe.
Ranging from inside the octagon to the front cover of ESPN, ‘Rowdy’ was everywhere. Rousey gained accolades like no other MMA stars before her, but her course was plotted for disaster. Enter Holly Holm, and the head kick heard around the world.
Fall From The Top
Falling from her championship perch at UFC 193, Rousey tasted more than just the shin of Holm. Previously undefeated, Ronda had to deal with the brutal after effects of her first loss. This was much more than a physical toll.
As Rousey quickly exited the limelight, questions were asked. How had this happened to such a dominant fighter, or was she just facing overmatched opponents the whole time? Then came the subject of her coach, Edmond Tarverdyan.
Coach Edmond
Before Holly Holm blasted Ronda Rousey at UFC 193, Rousey’s own mother made a precise prediction. Ann Maria de Mars claimed Edmond Tarverdyan was a fake, and that Holm would expose the sub-par training methods Edmond taught her daughter.
Whether she was right or wrong about coach Edmond, she was spot on in her prediction of Rousey vs. Holm. ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ put Rousey to bed, but she shook up the rumours about Edmond Tarverdyan.
Ronda’s Boxing
Interestingly Ronda Rousey defended her long time coach, claiming the criticism against him was unjust. The problem was that everyone was now analyzing footage of Rousey training, and it did not look great.
Yeah, just a little bit off. As well as checking out the footage of Rousey herself training, people wanted to see coach Edmond’s fighting skills. Videos of his old fights quickly began circulating the web.
There’s one particular clip that’s been viewed by surprisingly few people though…
