Bellator is stepping up their drama game in a BIG way…
Hitting the SSE Arena in London, England last night was a great offering from Bellator MMA. With the UFC as the undoubted number one, the consensus number two promotion made a big splash.
Although Michael Page had dropped out of the event last minute, there was still a number of great fights to look forward to. Featured in the main event were Rory MacDonald and Paul Daley.

Big Night, Bigger Fights For Bellator 179
The main event left the crowd wanting even more, in the best way possible. MacDonald came to England and beat their star, submitting ‘Semtex’ with a second round choke. Watch the video of that moment here.
More was exactly what the crowd got, as Daley left the cage he saw his rival Michael ‘Venom’ Page cage side. As Page made some sarcastic remarks, ‘Semtex’ exploded and a scuffle ensued:
Solid!
So with a great night of fights capped off by some crowd brawling drama, Bellator 179 was winning all round.

Daley vs. Page
Obviously this is the fight to make now. MacDonald goes on to get the Bellator welterweight title shot from his London win. Although Daley might not be the best welterweight, he would certainly be a huge test for the normally dominant ‘Venom’ Page.
Son of the late great Kimbo Slice, Kevin Ferguson Jr. picked up a win at Bellator 179 also. Ferguson blasted away at DJ Griffin for half a round until he could take no more. Check out Fabian Edwards sending his man to the moon here.
Bellator Title For MacDonald?
Lets be honest, we expected MacDonald to win gold in the UFC, and it’s highly likely he will do so in Bellator. Meanwhile we get to see two knockout artists in Page and Daley collide, likely in Bellator’s next England visit.
Over in New York, Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen will finally collide, as will Fedor Emelianenko and Matt Mitrione.
