What an Inspiring Piece of Footage This is… Jake Peacock Defeated His Opponent by Way of Brutal Head Kick… The Caveat is that This Professional Fighter Only Has One Arm…
It is incredibly difficult to become an elite combat sports athlete. First of all, you have to learn the skills of the martial art that you are pursuing. Only a few people can truly compete at the highest level. Then you have to get yourself in the perfect physical condition to fight. Oh, and you have to try and avoid injuries along the way. Good luck.
So if you’ve got only got one hand then the odds are pretty firmly stacked against you, right? Well, not if you’re Jake Peacock. He picked the right martial art because the Muay Thai fighter is now 2-0 in his professional career. They call Muay Thai the art of eight limbs, so maybe that’s why he’s coping with only seven weapons.
Peacock was born with just one hand but that doesn’t affect him head-kicking you into oblivion. Check out his devastating finish at Lion Fight 57. It’s seriously impressive.

Brutal
When Peacock was still in his mother’s womb, the umbilical cord wrapped around his arm, preventing it from properly developing. This hasn’t stopped him from competing as a martial artist though and now he’s moved 2-0 and is fighting for Lion Fight, one of the most respected Muay Thai promotions on the planet today.
Peacock hails from Calgary and was fighting John Garcia on the undercard of Lion Fight 57. He had won his first fight by head kick KO and obviously wants to make this a trend because he smashed Garcia to the floor with a devastating finish in Las Vegas. The crowd, quite rightfully, were on their feet and we can’t blame them because he’s as inspiring a martial artist as we’ve seen.

Inspiring
Peacock isn’t the first one-handed elite martial artist active in the US today. Nick ‘The Notorious’ Newell is definitely the most famous athlete suffering from this condition. That hasn’t stopped him making it to Bellator. He was an XTreme champion and only suffered his first loss when he ran into Justin Gaethje in a World Series of Fighting lightweight title fight.
It just goes to show that it doesn’t matter what obstacles are put in your path. It’s up to you the make the most of what you’ve got.

Arm Break
Elsewhere on the card, RIZIN MMA fighter, Andy Nguyen made headlines after getting her arm broken by a brutal kick in just her second professional Muay Thai fight. ‘The CrAsian’ is a former King of the Cage atomweight fighter and is reasonably well-known in combats sports circles. However, she was brutally dispatched of just 14 seconds in the second round by Magalie Alvarez.
It takes a special sort of person to be a combats sports athlete. It doesn’t matter whether it’s boxing, MMA, kickboxing or Muay Thai, these fighters are incredibly tough and have incredible willpower. It just makes Peacock’s success all the more inspiring.
