Colby Covington Reaches a New Level of Douche by Threatening to Slap UFC Commentator Joe Rogan…

Colby Covington polarizes opinion. Some people think he’s just an attention-seeking moron, while others respect the fact that at least he’s trying to do something different. There’s no denying that he’s a bit of a douche. He only went and spoiled the ending of the Avengers on Twitter this week…

Not to mention the fact that he’s effectively barred from Brazil on pain of death. This came after the Damian Maia fight when he said: “Brazil, you’re a dump! All you morons are animals!” The reaction was so strong that his upcoming fight against Rafael dos Anjos had to be moved from Rio de Janeiro to Chicago.

He’s also found himself at loggerheads with UFC commentator Joe Rogan. The longtime comedian has never been shy about giving his opinions. In a recent episode of his MMA show, Rogan analyzed Covington’s behavior. Let’s just say ‘Chaos’ didn’t appreciate it.

What Rogan Said

The Joe Rogan Experience is one of the most popular podcasts on the planet right now. Rogan talks to MMA fighters past and present about their experiences and what they think about how the game is evolving. Rogan told Alexander Gustafsson:

“I get what Colby’s doing. He’s making a lot of noise and trying to do business. And if you fight him, you’re going to make a lot of money, because a lot of people are going to come and see him get his ass kicked.”

That pretty much sums it up. You’d think there’s really not much Covington could say about that, because it is basically what he is doing. Rogan doesn’t particularly enjoy his style but he appreciates what he’s trying to do.

Watch Out

Well, it’s not over. Covington had the cheek to threaten Joe Rogan. He responded to the comedian’s comments on an interview for B.J Penn radio. He said:

“I think Joe Rogan should worry about what he’s saying about me because we might just meet face to face soon in the near future. He might be commentating that Chicago card, so that’s kind of hypocritical of him to say something like that because when he’s talking about me, we might be face to face. I might just have to slap him.”

Covington might want to be careful what he says. Rogan might be 50, but he’d still kick anyone’s ass. The man is a fitness freak and has black belts in 10th Planet Ju-Jitsu and Taekwon-Do. Rogan’s not just going to sit back and let Covington slap him.

Bad Decision

Of course, Covington could wake up in a hospital with tubes out of his nose after dos Anjos defends the honor of Brazil. Then all you’ll hear is Joe Rogan laughing on the microphone. Still, if dos Anjos has to pull out, maybe they can sort out a catchweight fight between Covington and Rogan. I’d watch that.

The UFC commentator is right though: Covington, like Dillon Danis, is setting himself up for a massive fall. There’s no humility or even any attempt to make people like him. It’s all very very tiring. Just take a chill pill, Colby.
