Paulo Costa recently hinted at his return at UFC 300, but is one of UFC’s trash talkers really joining the said event?

“The Eraser” hasn’t fought since August 2022 after defeating Luke Rockhold via unanimous decision. The fighter was scheduled to come back at UFC 294 in October but was forced to withdraw due to an infection. With this, Kamaru Usman stepped in to take his place and fight Khamzat Chimaev, who is not on good terms with Costa.

In his recent post, the Brazilian targeted Chimaev, whom he suggested he will fight at UFC 300 in April. It is important to note, however, that Costa is already scheduled with Robert Whittaker at UFC 298 in February. Costa, nonetheless, claimed he would have two fights in the early months of 2024.

While this sounds interesting and might excite fans, it is suggested to still take things with a pinch of salt. Aside from Costa’s known character on social media, UFC still hasn’t confirmed the matter, with UFC Dana White only confirming three bouts for the UFC 300 event. With this, only time will tell whether Costa is just making another bluff on social media or will indeed make a huge participation in the most awaited event of the promotion next year.
