3. Anderson Silva UFC 183
It was Silva’s first fight back after a dramatic and gruesome broken leg suffered in his last fight with Chris Weidman at UFC 168. Many assumed that the image of Silva screaming in pain and holding his leg would be the last image they would remember of Silva’s MMA career. The assumption was that Anderson Silva may have fought his last fight.
A little over a year later and Anderson would return however, and earn a decision victory over Nick Diaz. Both fighters would fail post-fight drug tests however, and both would receive lengthy suspensions.
For Nick Diaz he, and no surprise here, tested positive for marijuana and was originally given a 5-year suspension (later reduced to 18 months). Silva would test positive for 2 different banned substances that he would later claim were the result of consuming a sketchy blue liquid that his training partner got in Thailand for Silva to use as a sexual aid…
