Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz at UFC 40 was billed as the greatest fight in UFC history, but after the fight was over nobody referred to it as that.
The hype for this fight made sense: new dominant champion Tito Ortiz taking on the MMA pioneer Ken Shamrock. But when the two matched up against each other it was clear that Ortiz was on another level from Shamrock.
Shamrock’s corner stopped the fight at the end of the 3rd round. The next two fights in this extremely one-sided trilogy would be just as lop-sided.
