Cyborg’s Striking
Considering Cyborg’s high-level jiu-jitsu, perhaps Ronda’s best strategy would be to stand and bang with her. Nope, that’s a terrible idea, though one that might be suggested by Edmond Tarverdyan, but only because he’s a terrible coach.
Cyborg’s striking is light years beyond other women fighters, and has a 2W-1L professional Muay Thai record. Probably the most telling stat as to why Ronda does not want to strike with Cyborg, is that 14 of Cyborg’s 16 wins have come by knockout. And usually those are brutal knockouts as well.

Rousey Isn’t As Good As We Thought
The thing about women’s mixed martial arts today is that we have just finished up the pioneering stage, with Ronda Rousey being the most pivotal of all the pioneers. Now the talent pool is far deeper than it ever has been before because there is money to be made. The reason there is money to be made is because of Rousey, but that doesn’t mean any up and coming fighter isn’t going to try and take her out.
It’s possible that we look back on Ronda Rousey’s career the same way we do at Ken Shamrock’s. We treat her as a pioneer of the sport who seemed invincible at one time, but her later fights exposed incredible holes in her game. She was pretty exposed against Holly, and a fight against Cyborg would do much of the same.
