The undisputed pound-for-pound king of controversial interviews is back, and this time he takes it to the next level…
Fierce UFC middleweight Yoel Romero will face fellow top contender Ronaldo Jacare Souza at UFC 194. The bout between the two extremely dangerous finishers, which could easily be considered a main event, plays not second, but third fiddle in the event’s sequence.
Big shot middleweights Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold fill the co-main event slot, as they do battle for ‘The All-American’s’ 185-pound title. Then, of course, we have the epic unification bout between interim champ Conor McGregor and featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo in the main event.
But the subject of today’s article remains surrounding the UFC middleweight contender match, and more specifically is regarding Yoel ‘Soldier of God’ Romero. You may remember after his stunning KO win over Lyoto Machida, Romer set the MMA world alight with his seemingly controversial comments.
During an off the cuff rant, Romero appeared to say ‘Go for Jesus, not for gay Jesus,’ coupled with the fact that same sex marriage had been legalized that very same weekend in June this year, there was massive uproar in the immediate aftermath.
Yoel Romero was once again in the spotlight today, as he took part in the UFC 194 media day scrum, fielding questions from eager reporters. Once again asked to clarify his comments about Jesus, Romero’s reaction was once again quite crazy.
