Lee Murray

After attending the birthday party of glamour model Lauren Pope in September of 2005, English MMA’s ‘bad boy’ Lee Murray found himself getting caught up in a brawl outside a London club attempting to defend one of his friends.

During the chaotic scenes the former UFC fighter said he started bleeding from his head, but assumed he’d just been punched, so he tried to wipe the blood away and continued fighting.

The reality was that he’d actually just been stabbed in the head with a knife, but that realization didn’t dawn on him until he looked down and saw in horror that he’d also been stabbed in the chest.

Even worse, the blow appeared to have reached his heart and as a result he was now rhythmically spurting blood up to a yard in front of himself.

Murray took off his shirt and tried to stem the bleeding and then rushed over to a nearby taxi, but it locked it’s doors and sped off, so he went to another car with two women inside and begged them to take him to a hospital.

The women phoned for an ambulance, which eventually rushed him unconscious to A&E, where he would die three times on the operating table, only to finally waken up two days later in intensive care.

Murray had hoped to continue his fighting career soon after his recovery, but instead his rollercoaster life would undergo another shocking twist when less than a year later he was arrested for his involvement in the biggest armed robbery in UK history – which he still remains in prison for to this day.
