No.4: Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic

On multiple occasions Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ has flirted with retirement, but in the end the urge to compete always seems to win out and so, at 44-years-old and with over 50 MMA fights and nearly 40 kickboxing bouts to his name, the heavyweight star continues to do what he loves.

In recent years ‘Cro Cop’ has returned to the place where he first became a star, Japan, fighting mainly for the Rizin promotion, and has managed to maintain an unbeaten stretch that now extends to nine fights, all but one of which have come since reaching his 40’s.

Along the way he’s defeated the likes of Satoshi Ishii (twice), Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal and Gabriel Gonzaga, while also winning Rizin’s 2016 open-weight grand-prix.

After recently racking up another TKO victory in the Rizin ring, ‘Cro Cop’ has now signed for Bellator and is preparing for a rematch with fellow 40-something ex-UFC star, Roy Nelson in February of next year.
