Shine Fighter’s Fall Onto The Commentary Table
Shine Fights made a bold decision to host a one-night lightweight grand-prix in 2010 and it proved to be a memorable night, though not always for the right reasons.
The biggest problem was that the ring hadn’t been assembled properly, leaving the ropes far too loose to keep the fighters in place if they went over to them during the bouts.
This meant that not only were the fighters in danger, but also the commentators at ringside were also at risk of being hit, and indeed during one fight, James Warfield attempted a flying knee against Kyle Baker, which missed and saw him launching onto the ropes and then tumbling onto the commentary booth, narrowly missing the announcers.
During another fight Dennis Bermudez and Shannon Gugerty also fell through the ropes and on this occasion Bermudez’s heel struck commentator Beau Taylor on the head, though thankfully he was ok and able to continue.
