Josh Koscheck vs. Georges St-Pierre

Josh Koscheck started his trash-talking campaign early prior to his title fight against Georges St-Pierre at UFC 124 – infuriating the Canadian crowd following a win over Paul Daley by claiming that he was going to beat up their hero next.

The two fighters then served as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter Season 12, where Koscheck constantly attempted to get a rise out of the champion, and as the fight drew closer claimed that GSP had ,“quit in him” and questioned whether he really had what it takes to tough it out in a striking battle.

Those words would soon come back to haunt  him as almost immediately in the first round St-Pierre managed to break Koscheck’s orbital bone with a jab, and the outspoken challenger then had to endure five full rounds of the Canadian superstar continuing to clinically pick him apart with punches for an utterly dominant unanimous decision victory.

Koscheck had to undergo surgery on the injury afterwards that kept him out of action for many months, and he was never quite the same fighter again, losing six of his next eight fights before retiring.
