Jon Fitch
Jon Fitch is a medical marijuana activist. He has given interviews in the past where he talks about a friend of his who died of a prescription pain killer overdose in 2007, and how that influenced him to try marijuana as a pain killer following rotator cuff surgery in 2011.
Fitch feels it’s important that athletes speak out about the importance of allowing athletes to use medical marijuana as an alternative to pain medication.
“You can be successful, you can be a good parent, you can be a good husband and person” He was quoted as saying.
“You can do all of these good and positive things and still use cannabis”
In February Fitch was suspended 9-months for failing a drug test leading into his fight with Rousimar Palhares at World Series of Fighting 16.
