Former Bantamweight Champion, Cody Garbrandt is calling out Jose Aldo for a potential match. Garbrandt has had his comeback win against Raphael Assuncao with a devastating knockout. Meanwhile, Jose Aldo finally has a win in the bantamweight division against Marlon Vera.
Everyone wants to fight Jose Aldo because of how big his name is in the UFC. Many consider him as one of the GOATs due to his accomplishments in the featherweight division. After losing to Max Holloway twice, he has decided to move down to try and get a second belt.
Many have doubted that Aldo moving down would be a terrible move as he would cut a lot more weight. In his posted pictures, many thought he looked drained and may hinder his performance. He was fighting Marlon Moraes who was coming off a title shot loss. He was the underdog but his performance was impressive. Many even thought he won the fight.
Jose Aldo finally has a bantamweight win and has called out TJ Dillashaw. A win against Dillashaw would bring him to title contention once more as Dillashaw was also a bantamweight champion but was suspended due to a banned substance EPO.
Cody Garbrandt was supposed to fight on the flyweight division against Deiveson Figueiredo but pulled out. After a short notice turn around the fantastic fight of Figueiredo against Moreno, Garbrandt may not be granted the fight against Figueiredo as Moreno will likely have an immediate rematch due to the majority draw.
Cody Garbrandt then called out Jose Aldo as it may be the only fight that makes sense. Both fighters are a big name in the UFC and are coming off a win. Aldo had an impressive fight and usually brings the fight every time.
“I feel my best performances are in front of me, so why not challenge yourself with a Jose Aldo? He’s still dangerous. He’s still there. He’s down in weight class now. He’s coming off a win, I’m coming off a win. We’re both in the top five, so I think it’s the perfect fight to make.”
Garbrandt’s manager Ali Abdelaziz also agreed that it is the fight to make. Both former champions and are still a household name.
@Cody_Nolove is number 3. Aldo is 6 . Both coming off wins. Two former champions 👊🏿

Another question is who will fight Dillashaw in his comeback fight. Cory Sandhagen is booked against Frankie Edgar, so most of the top contenders are booked. The UFC will likely give Dillashaw if not a title shot, a top contender fight. Many fans think that Dillashaw should not fight for it as he cheated in his match prior and lost to a smaller man.
