Dana White just posted in his Twitter account that he is indeed meeting with the retired UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov. They will probably discuss the future of the division and what Khabib’s plans are.

Ever since Khabib announced retirement, Dana thinks that it is the end of the champ’s career and that he will need to get the 30-0 record. He has said that he thinks that he can offer Khabib something that he cannot refuse.
UFC may potentially be looking to make the biggest fight in UFC history if they make the rematch of Khabib vs Mcgregor. Their first fight marked the biggest and most successful fight in UFC history. It would make sense that the rematch will be bigger given that the bad blood is still there and Khabib jumping on Mcgregor’s teammates after the fight.
The fight sells itself and Dana knows that. In terms of money, there is no bigger fight to make. All of this can happen if Mcgregor wins his fight against Dustin Poirier. Khabib has beat both fighters via submission.
When Ariel Helwani asked Mcgregor on his thoughts on Khabib, he thinks that Khabib retired because of not wanting the Irish fighter. He said that it was the best version of Khabib that night that fought his worst version. Although he accepts the fact that there are family issues going on and said “it is what it is”.
