2. Frankie Edgar embarrasses BJ Penn 3x Over
B.J Penn has a fierce and loyal fanbase that will defend him no matter what. They are the ones that believe the only reason GSP was able to lay such a massive beating on BJ at UFC 94 was because he had a small amount of vaseline applied to his back in between rounds, and they are also the ones that claim Penn’s 5W-4L record in title fights should be enough to earn him status as a mixed martial arts “legend”.
Even that loyal a fan base cannot deny that BJ Penn looked absolutely abysmal in his 3rd fight with Frankie Edgar. In fights 1 and 2 between Edgar and Penn it looked as though Edgar was just too quick for BJ and that was all. In the 3rd fight however, it looked as though BJ Penn did not want to be there, did not want to be fighting, knew he was going to lose, and was just trying to avoid taking much of a beating.
Its not as if BJ Penn was an old man during this fight, he was only 35! Yet he fought like he was in there against Ken Shamrock in a Bellator senior circuit main event.
