3. Liddell Beats Ortiz (UFC 47 and UFC 66)

Tito Ortiz continuously finding ways to duck a fight with Chuck Liddell eventually forced the UFC to schedule an interim light heavyweight championship bout between Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell, where Couture would pull out what was then considered an upset.  At one point Ortiz had even claimed that since Liddell and Ortiz briefly trained together that the two would not fight each other, however Liddell never expressed any such sentiment.

The way an Ortiz vs. Liddell title fight never seemed to happen during Ortiz’s LHW title reign led many to believe that Ortiz knew Liddell could beat him.  That belief was consistent with Ortiz’s body language during each of his two fights with Liddell, always looking as though he knew he was overmatched.
