Tyron Woodley

Tyron Woodley can be an angry guy sometimes. He was certainly angry with Joe Rogan’s commentary at UFC 171 anyway. Woodley had been fighting in Strikeforce up until 2013, so he hadn’t had Rogan calling many of his fights at that point yet.

Woodley was 2-1 in the UFC coming into this fight with Carlos Condit. The fight was ended in the 2nd round when Condit couldn’t continue due to a knee injury. Afterwards Woodley felt that Rogan’s commentary was too favourable to his opponent.

I think Joe Rogan is horrendous for his commentary that he did for that fight. Everything was, ‘Oh, Tyron threw a hard bomb but Carlos took it. He’s got such a great chin. Oh, Tyron has a takedown. Look at Carlos. He’s doing the mission impossible guard [mission control].’ Everything that I did he was leaning it towards the credit of Carlos Condit.

“I think sometimes when you watch a fight and you listen to the commentary you can kind of veer the spectators, and hopefully not the UFC, in directions it shouldn’t be going.”
