Unorthodox Style
Not being a boxer and not having any professional boxing experience, McGregor does not have the traditional boxing skills and stance. He is of course one of the world’s greatest martial artists.
McGregor’s style in MMA is unique. His ability to move in and out of range is reminiscent of a vintage Manny Pacquiao, a fighter who back in 2009, many had said possessed the skills needed to defeat Mayweather.
A flashy southpaw, McGregor has an unorthodox style that he will bring from the Octagon into the boxing ring.
McGregor doesn’t particularly have a traditional boxing style, featuring jabs and various feints. What he does have however, is a unique approach to fighting. Chances are, Mayweather may not have seen anything like McGregor’s boxing, which could completely throw him off his game.
Furthermore, due to MMA fights being shorter than boxing matches, more emphasis is placed on working towards a finish. McGregor is no stranger to unloading nuclear power shots that aim to debilitate.
