Brian Stann, former fighter and announcer for the UFC originally broke the news of the altercation on twitter stating that Brown had been attacked by an unknown assailant.
Random fan runs into hotel, hits Matt Brown, and runs. Matt's friend catches him. Wow

He took to twitter moments later to explain that the attacker was not a civilian but a former coach who was holding a grudge over Brown. The UFC generally tries to avoid any scenes such as these, as they give the sport a bad reputation, so it will be interesting to see if any action is taken against ‘The Immortal’ for his antics over the weekend.
Not a random fan. Guess it is a guy who has had a long time grudge w/ Matt, old coach or something, odd. Security has him now

Another source caught the footage of the attacker, getting jumped outside the hotel after the incident. Dana White will not be a happy man with these videos in circulation, especially if the people involved are a part of Matt Brown’s camp.
