Donald Trump

For the most part Donald Trump has been a big supporter of MMA, having given the UFC a venue to use at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City back in the dark days of the company, while he was also an investor in the doomed Affliction promotion and is close friends with Dana White.

However, that doesn’t mean he’s not been critical at times, and even once declared that he wouldn’t allow his son to compete in MMA due to concerns about brain damage.

Meanwhile, during his 2016 election campaign Trump stated that he’d be happy to have Ronda Rousey as a fighter in the U.S. army and claimed that she liked him, but then took great offense when she stated in the media that she wouldn’t be voting for him and didn’t trust him to run the country.

“Glad to see @RondaRousey lost her championship fight last night,” Trump tweeted after her loss to Holly Holm. “Was soundly beaten – not a nice person!”

On the other hand, despite repeated accusations that Colby Covington makes racist, homophobic and zenophobic remarks, Trump has appreciated the fighter’s vocal support for him so much that he’s invited him to the White House on two separate occasions and tweeted out a good luck message prior to his fight with Robbie Lawler.
