Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald first met at UFC 167 in a very close three round fight. Lawler emerged victorious in the number one contender bout that night in November 2013, and went on to meet Johny Hendricks at UFC 171 to compete for Georges St-Pierre’s vacated strap.

It was a great fight against ‘Bigg Rigg’ but one that ‘Ruthless’ came out of on the wrong side of the judge’s scorecards. For the moment, Lawler’s sensational story of resurgence was put on hold.

After a brutal TKO victory over Jake Ellenberger at UFC 173 just two months after the first Hendricks fight, Lawler was once again booked in to fight in a number one contender match, this time against dangerous striker Matt Brown.

Lawler defeated Brown in an all-out war in mid-2014, winning fight of the night honors for the gruelling five round affair. Then came the rematch with Johny Hendricks at UFC 181, where Lawler finally captured the welterweight title. It was another close five rounder, but this time ‘Ruthless’ left a lasting impression at the end of the fight.

Then came the fight in question, a magnificent brawl against Rory MacDonald at UFC 189 in Las Vegas this past July 11. The bout was nothing short of an instant classic, with all the intricate nuances required to fulfil such a lofty status.

It’s often satisfying to see a bully get their just desserts, but when a trained fighter is involved, does it go too far? These videos show some of the nastiest beatdowns….

Since the eruption of social media and content sharing sites such as Youtube, humans have been taking the opportunity to share their daily exploits with millions of viewers and subscribers worldwide.

Viral videos are the new fashion, and can pretty much contain anything, as long as it gathers interest from the viewer. More often than not, it’s some sort of catchy subject that is the current flavour of the month, but there’s also a very dark side to the sharing community.

There seems to be a current fascination with seeing bullies get what they deserve in epic fashion, and it’s sweeping the web. Recently though, we’ve seen a number of bully beatdowns featuring martial artists from various backgrounds putting the pain on untrained trolls or ‘tough guys.’

Here’s one such video featuring a Muay Thai fighter knocking out a ‘crazed street fighter’ in Thailand.

In the grand scheme of things, this one wasn’t all that bad, but this isn’t always the case. The protagonist in the case above was mercifully finished, with as little prolonged punishment or potential lasting damage as possible.

When the fighters involved lose control though, it’s a whole different ball game. Of course, they’d never have been in that position to do so if the bully in question hadn’t got gully.

The internet has been thoroughly dominated by the shocking UFC 193 main event since it went down in Australia this past Saturday November 14, and rightly so. The long standing champion Ronda Rousey was sensationally dethroned by the huge underdog Holly Holm, who finished the champion via devastating second round knockout.

Quickly dubbed ‘the head kick heard around the world’ by yours truly, the video of Holm’s moment of victory became viral within hours. For Rousey, it was most certainly a tough loss to deal with, but oppositely ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ fought the perfect fight and can now revel in the spoils.

The subject of today’s article is a very artistic and well produced video that provides an almost emotional look at the happenings of UFC 193 between ‘Rowdy’ and the now champion Holm.

‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ upset the Las Vegas bookies with a tremendous and unquestionable second round knockout against ‘Rowdy,’ capturing the fallen champ’s long held title in the process.

Yeah, how damn brutal was that? The UFC itself might be damaged by the shocking loss to Holm, as Rousey was the promotion’s biggest pay-per-view attraction of 2015. Whether she still is after this loss is yet to be seen.

It was more than just the promotion that took a dent though, as the Las Vegas bookies offices took an absolute pounding due to the ridiculous odds made by people who have no idea about MMA.

It was a tough weekend for Ronda Rousey, she firstly made a bit of a fool of herself at the UFC 193 weigh-ins, and proceeded to get knocked the hellout in spectacular fashion when facing Holly Holm in Melbourne, Australia.

The head kick heard around the word was still reverberating when a stream of both funny and guilt inducing memes began to sweep cyber space. Images of Rousey knocked out edited by some internet trolls lit up the web, but that wasn’t all.

Ex-opponent Miesha Tate said it was about time the ‘bitch’ Ronda lost, and that she was ‘stoked’ to see ‘Rowdy’ get knocked out by ‘The Preacher’s Daughter.’ It seems the now ex-champion’s antics and judgemental attitude has finally caught up to her.

Perhaps she was just too in to her own hype, or maybe she was just crushing cans the whole time, either way, Ronda Rousey suffered a pretty harrowing fall from grace as he title was snatched so suddenly from her grasp.

One old rival that stayed quiet until now is former boxing multiple weight champion Floyd Mayweather, who has shared an ongoing beef with Rousey for some time now.

It was a pretty rough night for former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey in Australia as she was blasted like old yeller in the backyard at UFC 193. Holly Holm was the first woman ever to beat Rousey, and did it with a face crushing head kick knockout.

Now the newly crowned champ, ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ can revel in the fact that she didn’t act like a tool before the fight, and ‘Rowdy’ was the one playing the role of joker. The video of the KO finish is below, and then read on to hear Rousey’s eerie statement before they fought:

So yeah, that happened, and very few expected such a harrowing finish for Holm, especially not considering how brutally dominant Rousey’s rule over the division had been before UFC 193.

Even now in his late 30’s, Vitor Belfort has gone from a ripped freak of nature in 2013, when he knocked out three top contenders in a row with crazy headkicks, to a shell of a man at UFC 187 against Chris Weidman.

With the berserker seemingly gone from Belfort, he showed up at UFC 187 for his long awaited 185-pound title shot looking like a welterweight. He was obviously impacted by the fact he’d now come off the controversial testosterone replacement therapy.

His first round TKO loss to ‘The All-American’ further backed up the notion that Belfort was done. Then came the November rubber match with Dan Henderson, in Brazil, where ‘The Phenom’ was once again looking more genetically altered.

The lead up to this bout has been uncharacteristic of ‘Rowdy,’ as she is usually a lot more animated and aggressive towards her opponents. ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ has been respectful and mild mannered for the most part, perhaps because Rousey is such a big draw that the usual hype job isn’t needed to sell seats and tickets.

So it may come as a bit of a surprise to now learn that Rousey and Holm clashed at the UFC 193 weigh-ins last night, and things got pretty ugly. Check out the heated confrontation below, followed by Rousey’s message on social media right after:
