The UFC 256 just had good news laid out. Both potential main eventers are cleared to fight. It was highly likely that the fight will happen but this just made sure that all things are good.

Deiveson Figueiredo’s attitude of wanting for a quick turnaround is rare in the UFC nowadays especially since he is the defending champion. The usual champions win and take a long rest because they are the champion.

Brandon Moreno’s post-fight interview even said that he does not care about title fights anymore because just wants to fight the best in the division.

It is good timing and Moreno does deserve a title shot if we are being honest. Cody Garbrandt may be a bigger name and more popular but he is 1-3 in his last 4 fights and not to mention on bantamweight.

Cody Garbrandt also posted his thoughts on Figueiredo’s win against Perez. He thinks that Perez was just there to lose and hype their super fight. It is a total disrespect to Perez but he may have a little bit of point.

Cody Garbrandt won the bantamweight belt against Dominick Cruz and it was a dominant win. He knocked down Cruz a bunch of times and outwrestled him as well. Many fans thought it was the beginning of a different era since he was so dominant.

His first title defense was against TJ Dillashaw, many thought it was due to his emotion. Both were former teammates until Dillashaw decided to switch camps which created bad blood.

The flyweight division which was supposed to be killed is now an entertaining division. Many contenders are up and coming, had Cejudo lost against Dillashaw it would have been the end.

Demetrious Johnson was destroying everyone in the division that it made boring. He was so dominant that he had no equal until the Cejudo rematch. Johnson was not granted another chance for the title because he was traded to ONE FC for Ben Askren.

Figueiredo has the potential to be a bigger name in terms of popularity than Johnson. Johnson was the #1 pound for pound best fighter but he lacked the charisma to get casual fans.
