Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino
Cyborg and Dana White do not get along. Dana has been outspoken in his criticism of Cyborg’s ability to make weight since signing with the UFC. Originally, according to Dana, the plan had been to get Cyborg down to 135lbs in order to compete in the already established women’s bantamweight division.
When she couldn’t make the weight, catchweight bouts began to be scheduled. Then finally UFC decided to create a 145lbs title just for her. When Cyborg told the UFC she wouldn’t be ready to fight by UFC 208, they just had the inaugural championship bout without her.
To make matters worse, the official UFC Spanish Twitter account decided it was a good idea to publicly criticize her. The translation of the exchange is as follows:
UFC Spanish Account:
This event is not scheduled yet. By the way Cyborg was offered before two championship fights in 145lbs and one in 135, rejected all.
Cyborg:
Ridiculous is this how to help build my brand? Is this your marketing idea? Lie to say I refuse the fights? @seanshelby
