1. Josh Barnett (4)

Josh Barnett has been competing in mixed martial arts for 20 years. His first fight was in 1997. Currently, Barnett is averaging a drug test failure every 5 years. He once even caused a promotion to go under this way.

Barnett’s first test failure was after his victory over Bobby Hoffman at UFC 34. Since this was in the UFC’s dark period, not much was made of it, and the NSAC only gave him a warning. Barnett then flunked a drug test after his next fight as well, a title victory over Randy Couture at UFC 36. He was stripped of the belt, but his title reign remains official.

He flunked another drug test in 2009, which carried some significant consequences. Barnett was scheduled to face Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction III. The bout’s cancellation led to the event being so as as well, and Affliction decided to go back to just making shirts afterwards.

He is currently suspended, the result of his 4th drug test failure, which occurred this December.
