2. Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin UFC 116
Shane Carwin didn’t seem gassed out in the first round of his UFC 116 bout with Brock Lesnar, but that was only because he spent the entire round punching Brock. But he emptied everything that first round; there was absolutely nothing left for the 2nd.
Many feel that the fight should have been stopped in the 1st round. Lesnar was doing just enough to show Herb Dean that he was intelligently defending himself however. Carwin punched himself out and was just a target after that.
In the 2nd round Brock took Carwin down and tapped him out with an arm-triangle. And just like that instead of referring to Shane Carwin as the guy who took the title away from Brock Lesnar, he’s just Shane Carwin, the guy who should have taken the title away from Brock Lesnar.
Carwin is currently in negotiations to return to MMA competition.
