4. Rickson Gracie

We never got the Rickson Gracie fights we really wanted. He beat everyone he faced and then walked away from the sport.

At Pride 8 Rickson was challenged by “the Gracie Killer” Kazushi Sakuraba, but Rickson never fought him. In his defence however, he was into his 40s by that time while Sakuraba was in his prime.

Still it feels like Rickson just came too early for MMA. Too early to take on the fighters we would one day call the pioneers of the modern-day sport. How great would it have been to Rickson vs. Fedor?
