3. Amanda Nunes Destroys Ronda Rousey
Currently Las Vegas has Ronda Rousey as a slight favourite over Amanda Nunes. A savvy gambler might be wise to put a bunch of money on Nunes right now.
While questions remain regarding Rousey’s focus, strategy, and post-fight career, Amanda Nunes is at her athletic peak. The only knock on Nunes is that she, a little like Conor, tends to go so hard for the finish that fatigue becomes a factor later in the fight. That didn’t so much matter against Miesha Tate at UFC 200 however, as Nunes stopped the champ in just over 3 minutes.
Considering Rousey has had 13 months to think about how much she did not enjoy being hit by Holly Holm, it’s doubtful she responds well if tagged early by Nunes. Rousey will only have a short window of time with which to shake off her cage-rust or else she is going to get finished early by the champ. A 1st round KO win for Nunes seems like a smart pick here.
