McDojo
McDojo is a term that was popularized in the late 80’s and early 1990’s in America. It means a martial arts dojo that’s sole purpose is to make money and gain fame for the owners.
McDojo martial arts can usually be identified very easily. They use ineffective training, sparring and teaching techniques, they hand out black belts like flyers and often charge ridiculous monthly fees to their students. Beware!
