Conor McGregor UFC 200

Although they seem to get along now, Dana White had to send a message to Conor that he is not special. If Conor McGregor skips out on media commitments, just as Nick Diaz did at UFC 137, he will be pulled from the card.

Conor no-showed a media day for UFC 200, where commercials and promo materials were supposed to be created. The defence given by Conor is that he has done so much media for the UFC in the past, that perhaps he was due an easier media schedule. From the UFC’s perspective if they let Conor get away with no-showing it makes it all too easy for someone else to try the same thing later. They had to take him off the card or run the risk that other fighters do the same thing in the future.
