Randy Couture
Randy Couture and the UFC have been not getting along almost since the very beginning of the company. Twice Couture has sat on the sidelines while holding the UFC heavyweight championship, opting instead to fight for a better contract than take on a new challenger.
The second time Couture left as champion he did so under the belief that he would be free to sign a fight outside of the UFC with Fedor Emelianenko. Unfortunately for Couture, that is not something the contract he signed with he UFC was going to allow. The two sides had to go to court to work out whether or not Couture was free to sign with other fight organizations. A judge ruled Couture was not, and White celebrated by booking Couture to fight Brock Lesnar, a man who must outweigh him by 80lbs.
Later Couture would leave the UFC again to sign as an ambassador with Bellator, and Dana White banned him from all UFC events, including prohibiting him from cornering his son Ryan, who was fighting in the UFC at the time.
