2. Frank Mir – 8 T(KO) Losses In 27 UFC Fights

Former champion Mir holds the record for having the second-most fights in UFC heavyweight history. He also shares the record for the most knockout losses in UFC history.

Mir’s career has been punctuated with highs and lows, none more so than when he won the UFC heavyweight title in 2004 only to be stripped of the title after a career-threatening motorcycle accident that would take two years to rehabilitate from. His first TKO loss had actually taken place back in 2002 against the UK’s Ian Freeman. But his comeback from the accident saw an out-of-sorts Mir suffer two more stoppage losses due to strikes against Marcio Cruz and Brandon Vera.

Mir eventually rediscovered his old form and won the interim title in 2008, only to suffer a notorious TKO beatdown against Brock Lesnar at UFC 100. He was then knocked unconscious by Shane Carwin in an interim title fight in 2010. Undeterred, Mir would fight his way to another title shot a few years later, but suffered a TKO defeat against Junior dos Santos. It was the start of a four-fight losing streak that would also see him TKO’d by a Josh Barnett knee.

In his 27th and final UFC fight in 2016, Mir became Mark Hunt’s latest one-punch knockout victim. That made eight total losses by T(KO) during his UFC run. He has also been TKO’d twice more since joining Bellator.
