Cody East
Cody East made his way into the UFC via Dana White’s ‘Lookin’ For A Fight’ series back in 2016, but his signing was quickly called into question due to his long and troubling rap sheet.
As far back as his days as a 17-year-old state champion wrestler in 2006, East had been in trouble with the police after being arrested for 10 counts of sexual assault of a minor in addition to other charges including false imprisonment.
East was eventually acquitted of the alleged rape charges, but in 2007 he was arrested again on child abuse charges after brawling at a house party in which he’d break several girls noses, another’s arm and even attacked his own parents.
Furthermore, just a few months later he also broke the ankle of a 17-year-old friend at at another party.
East was eventually sentenced to three years in jail for child abuse, but despite all this, in 2016 the UFC stated that the fighter had been up-front about his past and had completed rehab, and as such they, ‘felt comfortable’ signing him.
However, East crashed out of the UFC after an 0-2 run and just two months later he was arrested again for aggravated battery against a household member, false imprisonment and aggravated assault.
