Jon Jones (12)
Driving under the influence can ruin anyone’s calendar year, especially when you’re the UFC’s most prominent champion.
But what Jon Jones has in the bank (besides money) over the rest of the dummies who decide to operate a vehicle impaired, is a legendary career under the Octagon’s bright lights. This includes 12-straight victories, eight-straight title defenses, eight finishes during said streak, and a boneyard of former UFC champions in his back pocket.
Now while current seat warmer Daniel Cormier has done a very nice job in keeping the short-handed light heavyweight division relevant since Jones’ departure and justified title stripping, there’s isn’t much that’s going to stop “Bones” from regaining what’s rightfully his when the two meet in a rematch early next year.
Because at this point in time, at 28 years of age, Jon Jones could very well be considered the greatest fighter to ever compete in this sport. And if it weren’t for a disqualification loss against a beaten Matt Hamill back in 2009, Jones would be sitting pretty with an untainted professional record of 22-0.
