5. Ancient Japanese Samurai Techniques
Ancient Japanese Samurai warriors stressed the importance of mental strength and being able to endure pain and harsh conditions with a “mind over matter” approach.
In order to train the Samurai to be able to endure pain without breaking their mental clarity, Samurai training techniques involved standing naked in the snow or otherwise cold conditions for extended periods of time. Another popular method for this was for the Samurai to sit under a cold waterfall or in an icy river.
Not sure if great Japanese warriors such as Takanori Gomi or Kazushi Sakuraba ever practiced this, but it definitely seems like something Bob Sapp may have tried once or twice. Probably just once.
