4. Muay Thai Shin Conditioning
Muay Thai fighters need to have strong shins with which to hit their opponents, and they will go to extremes to get these.
The best way for a Muay Thai fighter to toughen up their shins is simply to kick stuff with them. A favourite target of Muay Thai fighters to kick is banana trees. In fact the first Muay Thai pads were developed from banana trees, I guess someone decided that there was probably a way to make the trees less risky to kick. Now before you go off and do this, it should probably be mentioned that this is a great way to break your leg. You might feel cool if you kick down a tree, but if you permanently mess up your leg, you’ll be less glad that you tried it.
Another way Muay Thai fighters will toughen up their shins is to have their training partners repeatedly hit them in the shins with objects. This does not do any nerve damage to the shins, but does desensitize them.
