Joanna Jedrzejczyk is one of the most exciting fighters to watch in all of MMA. She is a vicious Muay Thai striker, with one of the most intense stare-down abilities in the entire sport.
Her name is also ridiculously hard to pronounce and spell. Joe Rogan once attempted to have Joanna teach him how to say her name correctly during the course of a live cage side interview. Rogan’s eyes started to bug out as he tried to follow the sounds that Joanna was making with her mouth. He made an attempt at prouncing it correctly, but based on Joanna’s reaction he was not anywhere close.
“Joanna Champion” has become the go-to way to refer to the current UFC straw weight champion without badly butchering the pronunciation of her last name. Don’t worry, she’s not losing that belt any time soon.
