Bloodsport (Frank Dux vs Chong Li)
When Van Damme yells that means he’s had enough of getting beat up and he’s ready to retaliate — which always gets fans up on the edge of their seats.
Bloodsport is one of the most iconic fight movies in history. Released in 1988, it is one of Van Damme’s best movies. The Canadian plays American Frank Dux who travels to Hong Kong to compete in the Kumite — a gathering of the world’s top martial artists battling each other until there is only one man left standing.
The big, bad meanie in this flick is Bolo Yeung’s Chong Li, an egotistical, stocky Kung-Fu practitioner who looks like Bruce Lee on anabolic steroids. Chong Li is apparently untouchable in the Kumite with his no mercy approach earning him a reputation as a cold heartless killer.
That just wouldn’t fly with Dux though, and in the end Dux totally creams him in one of the most intense fight scenes in history.
