3. Wanderlei Silva Bare-Knuckled Bout
Wanderlei Silva is a crazy man. We’ll never know what kind of wild, violent and insanely irresponsible fights he and other members of the famed Chute Box team have had behind closed doors, but we do have video of Silva in some bare-knuckled fights from the IVC.
Silva is a former International Vale Tudo champion, but this is not the same International Vale Tudo you will find putting on shows today. The original IVC shows were no-holds barred, allowing headbutts from the guard and everything that the UFC was starting to make illegal in the mid to late 90s. Unfortunately the state of Sao Paulo, where the events were being held, cracked down on the IVC and after 14 events the promotion was done.
When the IVC returned in 2012, it became a feeder system to the UFC; adopting the modern rules of the sport.
