Flyweight title contender Taila Santos is no longer with UFC. The reason behind the move remains unclear.

The thirty-year-old Brazilian mixed martial artist had a record of 4-3 after joining the Contender Series in 2018. This translates to the former title challenger’s 19-3 general MMA record.

Santos was released from her deal after seven fights with the promotion, but the fighter reportedly had “a couple of fights” (via MMA Junkie) left untouched under the contract. Sources confirmed the matter, which was first revealed on X by UFC Roster Tracker.

It can be recalled that Santos almost upset Valentina Shevchenko in a flyweight title during the UFC 275 in June 2022 in Singapore. After that split decision that led to her loss, she lost in a recent bout in August via unanimous decision to Erin Blanchfield.

Despite all those things, Santos made success in defeating Molly McCann, Gillian Robertson, Roxanne Modafferi, and Joanne Wood on a four-fight winning streak within 14 months.

Unfortunately, it is still unknown why Santos was released by UFC. We will update this story for more details.
