So it appears as though Conor McGregor and the UFC have put their lovers tiff to one side to focus on getting the ‘Notorious’ back in the octagon. Neither party wants their prized asset and biggest draw to be sitting out and a next opponent has all but been confirmed.
The opponent is none other than Nate Diaz, the man who stunned the world when he beat McGregor at UFC 196.
McGregor who wields more power since the very public falling out, than he did before held all the cards going into the meeting. McGregor has been offered multi million dollar fights in Russia and most recently a $50 million purse to fight Floyd Mayweather. So it’s clear that the UFC’s punishment of the ‘Notorious’ has backfired as he is now the most sought after name in Combat Sports.
The UFC will be eager to get McGregor back into the octagon as soon as possible to put all the other speculation to bed, at least for now. Tommy Toe Hold, produced this hilarious parody of how the meeting probably went:
