Hip Show: Arena Combat airs on AXS TV, and has been approved by regulators in some states in the USA. The first 2-on-2 MMA card in the USA was held in South Carolina this past September and featured UFC veteran Rodney Wallace.
The sport seems realistically more of a spectacle than a fight. The promoters seem okay with that, going so far as to label it as an “American Gladiators meets Mixed Martial Arts” hybrid sport. The risk of serious injury seems much higher in an event such as this, which is just one thing that is holding it back from being sanctioned in other states.
