Jessica Andrade Made The Biggest Statement of Her Career So Far With a Massive One-Punch Knockout Of Karolina Kowalkiewicz…
Oh wow, Jessica Andrade. This was one of the most terrifying knockouts that you will ever see in your life. She has just declared herself the No. 1 contender on a night where one of these two ladies needed to make a statement after Tatiana Suarez obliterated Carla Esparza.
Brazilian fighter Andrade was fighting Polish fan-favorite Karolina Kowalkiewicz. They knew that an exciting win for either of them would effectively leave them as champion Rose Namajunas’s next challenger.
They were both coming into this one off two-fight win streaks. Andrade has looked especially destructive in dominant wins over elite opposition in Claudia Gadelha and Tecia Torres. Meanwhile, Kowalkiewicz had beaten Felice Herrig and Jodie Esquibel. Only one of these ladies could advance forward and Andrade did it in brutal style.

Stunning KO
This was a demolition job. Andrade came straight out of the traps, pressing hard with vicious power. Kowalkiewicz was visibly affected by the Brazilian fighter’s power and struggled early. However, while she might look like the girl next door, she is also renowned for her toughness – like all Polish fighters.
She managed to regain a foothold and began moving around the Octagon, trying not to be forced back against the fence and be battered with Andrade’s stronger punches. We’re talking Cyborg level power at 115 here.
Alas for Kowalkiewicz it was all in vain. She stood in front of Andrade and did not see her end coming. The Brazilian fighter summoned up her inner Francis Ngannou and smashed Kowalkiewicz in the face, leaving her sprawled on the ground, completely out for the count. It was possibly the cleanest K.O we’ve ever seen in women’s MMA. That’s how violent this was. Sheer raw power.

Frightening Power
If you were Rose Namajunas, you’d definitely be gritting your teeth right now, because fighting Andrade is not going to be fun for anyone. Her physique is spectacular for this weight class, and the other women are struggling to deal with her power and intensity.
‘Thug’ Rose is going to have to take a look at how Joanna Jedrzejczyck managed to defeat Andrade. That win for the Polish former champion is looking all the more impressive now because Andrade is becoming such a dominant force.

Call-Out
There’s absolutely no doubt about it either. Andrade wants this fight and she’s not going to settle for anything else. Why should she either? Ironically Namajunas has a loss to Kowalkiewicz, so you can bet she would have been hoping to get a chance to avenge that too. Unfortunately for KK and ‘Thug’ Rose, it’s not to be, and Karolina has it all to do to get back to the top again. Andrade called out the champ:
“I’m ready. I’m here,” Andrade said. “I’m here to prove I’m better than I’ve ever been. How about a fight for the belt? We have two Brazilian belt holders fighting Dec. 29. Both happen to be female. It’d be nice to fight for the title on that card.”
It’s pretty much impossible not to give it to her now, isn’t it?
