2. James Toney (UFC 118)
Nobody is too sure why Dana White signed James Toney to compete at UFC 118, not even Dana himself. Toney had been making statements in the media that he could defeat any of the top stars in the UFC in a mixed martial arts bout. He was far from the first boxer to do this, but for some reason he managed to get under White’s skin enough about it that he signed the guy to fight Randy Couture.
Naturally Couture took him down like he was nothing, and choked him out within 3 minutes. Toney would never compete in mixed martial arts again.
Still nobody can figure out why this fight happened.
