Further Into The Future

In this article we’ve tried to stick to listing confirmed fight bookings that are set to take place within the next eight weeks or so, but with some experts suggesting the current restrictions in place could last into the summer and beyond, that leaves some other massive fights that were rumored to be on the horizon in jeopardy too.

For instance, Conor McGregor had been adamant that he was eager to fight three times in 2020 and just this past week his camp were talking up a potential thriller with Justin Gaethje.

The idea was that this fight could happen in July, but that may just be wishful thinking given that it’s hard to predict what’s going to happne from one day to the next at the moment.

Meanwhile, Daniel Cormier has revealed that he was recently in discussions regarding his trilogy heavyweight title fight with Stipe Miocic, which would also have been a marquee headliner for the promotion.

Cormier also suggested that welterweight champion Kamaru Usman was being targeted for the same event, and while there’s no official confirmation, ‘Bad Mofo’ titleholder Jorge Masvidal could well be his intended opponent.

Throw in the fact that middleweight champion Israel Adesanya was also hoping to finally have his showdown with Paulo Costa at some stage in the summer and it’s clear that there’s a lot of must-see fights that now hang in the balance.
