Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson

If there’s one fight that every MMA fan is desparate to see survive the coronavirus shutdown it’s the lightweight title clash of the titans between current champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim beltholder Tony Ferguson.

It’s not hard to see why as with Nurmagomedov remaining undefeated in his 28-fight career and Ferguson being on a 12-fight rampage through the ranks, this is not only a strong candidate for the most important fight of the year, but arguably also in the history of the lightweight division.

On top of that, this match-up is already known as the most jinxed fight of all-time, having already been cancelled on no less than four occasions due to everything from freak accidents to injuries and botched weight cuts, so everyone is desparate to see it not being scrapped yet again.

At the time of writing Dana White has vowed the fight will still go on, but after having to scrap the three events that proceed it and more and global restrictions coming into place on practically an hourly basis, it seems that the odds are heavily stacked against it going ahead on April 18th.
