Chris Lytle vs. Lewis Gallant
After the best part of 7 years in retirement, former UFC veteran Chris ‘Lights Out’ Lytle was lured into returning to try his hand at bare knuckle boxing in 2018.
For his debut, Lytle was pitted against England’s Lewis ‘Bad Boy’ Gallant at BKB9 in the UK. Gallant was also a former MMA fighter with a far less glittering record than his star opponent, but had more bare knuckle experience.
There was a significant height and reach advantage for Lytle, but after such a long layoff from competing he wasn’t able to land cleanly in the opening rounds.
However, late in the third he connected flush with an overhand right and dropped Gallant, leading to his corner throwing in the towel.
Lytle racked up a quicker finish in his next fight, KO’ing fellow MMA veteran Brock Weaver out in 79 seconds at Bare Knuckle FC 2, while earlier this year he took his BKB record to 3-0 with a decision victory against yet another MMA fighter, JC Llamas.
