There might be a good reason GSP is moving up a weight class…

While Georges St. Pierre has not fought in over 3 years, he has still been heavily involved at the Tristar gym in Montreal. That is why it’s so surprising that recent photos suggest the former welterweight champion is not in the best of shape.

Georges has talked openly about needing to put on weight in order to face Bisping. Some are wondering if he might have over done it a little bit however.

“It’s not my natural size, I haven’t been this big in my life. But as a man, I’m going to be honest, we want to have bigger muscles and want to be big, so I’m happy to be a little bit bigger.”

GSP Gaining Too Much Weight?

“I have always been the same weight. When I knew that we were going to fight Michael Bisping, when I signed the contract, that’s when I decided to put on a little more weight” – GSP at recent Q & A

Georges has made it clear he plans on getting bigger for his fight with Bisping, it’s just that most people didn’t assume the majority of weight would be gained in his stomach.

Some crafty social media users have been able to determine that GSP’s current gut sort of resembles Chuck Liddell’s older one.

Chuck Liddell wasn’t able to make the abs-over-gut approach work for him in his fight with Rashad Evans. That was the bout many claim was the beginning of the end for the once dominate light heavyweight. Liddell was never able to take a punch the same way again.

What Is Going On With GSP’s Gut?

Georges’ expanded waistline in the video below has caught a lot of people by surprise. GSP must figure he’ll need the added weight in order to use his wrestling to keep Bisping down.

“I’m the biggest I’ve ever been right now in my life. Bisping will still be bigger than me, but I’m confident that this will help.”

A few fans couldn’t resist poking fun at GSP through social media:

PED-experts will note that HGH users often develop similar growths in their stomach. Despite GSP’s vocal anti-PED stance in the past, there will always be fight fans ready to jump at PED accusations concerning St. Pierre.

      • Hey stranger! Haha. Just found this site. Some different stories on here that’s for sure.

        • Hey hey! I literally hadn’t heard of the site before I got linked to this article, and I was like “oh nice, Ron’s here” haha

          • Ya small world. I literally just found it yesterday. Drop by for a beer next time haha. And what’s with GSPs weight? You know this will add to the HGH rumors.

          • Oh yeah I’ve already been hearing people talking about the “HGH gut.” They aren’t always caused by roids though, which is what a lot of people don’t understand.

A beer sounds mighty nice about now haha.

          • Ice cream’s my big vice (plus I bake a lot haha), but I try to keep the gut down. Man getting older sucks, it used to be so easy haha.

  1. He looks bigger but what’s the deal with his belly? It looks like palumboism to me. I hope I’m wrong cause I like him as a fighter and I don’t want him to become a freak.
