6. Shortest UFC Welterweight Title Reign Ever

It is likely that UFC 205 sees Tyron Woodley set a new record as the shortest reigning champion in the history of UFC’s welterweight division.

Woodley would tie Carlos Newton, BJ Penn, Matt Serra and pre-USADA Johny Hendricks as the only welterweight champions never to defend the title. Out of those 4 however, Woodley’s title run would be the shortest, barely edging out BJ Penn’s reign in 2004. Penn actually vacated the title however, officially holding the belt for 107 days beforehand. A loss by Woodley would end his reign at 105 days, which would be the second shortest championship reign of any division, only behind Carla Esparza’s 94-day reign as strawweight champion.
